Killeen, TX — September 3, 2024, Adrian Dominguez was killed following a pedestrian versus car accident just after 8:45 p.m. along Clear Creek Road.
According to authorities, 38-year-old Adrian Dominguez was on foot attempting to cross Clear Creek Road from the west side to the east side in the vicinity of the Elms Road intersection when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, Dominguez was struck by a southbound Acura. He suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

One of the challenges with a lot of pedestrian accidents is they don’t often get the attention they deserve. Folks may be quick to jump to conclusions or to assume authorities will have no problem getting answers for the victim’s loved ones. Sometimes, though, these situations can be incredibly complex, and that may require further efforts from independent investigations who can ensure more thorough explanations than a typical police investigation.
For example, we had a case not long ago involving a family looking for answers after their loved one was hit and killed by a car along the freeway. They didn’t know why the victim had been on the freeway, and authorities didn’t do much to shed light on the situation. We started digging into things, and it turned out there was a negligent alcohol provider whose actions led to the victim getting killed.
Evidence showed the victim had been out with friends prior to the accident. They were at an establishment whose servers proceeded to unlawfully over-serve the victim despite his obvious intoxication. While the man responsibly chose to walk home rather than drive, his extreme intoxication caused him to become disoriented, and he accidentally wandered off the sidewalk and into traffic.
What authorities had simply written off as someone being irresponsible turned out to be a man who was put in danger by a local alcohol provider’s reckless actions. Had the family not sought alternative avenues to just relying on the police, they may never have learned the truth.
To be clear, I’m not suggesting that happened here. This is just an example of why thorough investigations are always important. Perhaps authorities here understood this and were thorough in their own efforts. If not, though, there could still be more to this story than what these preliminary details have let on.
