Atascosa County, TX — May 25, 2023, Abel Colchado was injured following a semi-truck accident at around 8:10 a.m. along Interstate 37.
Authorities released preliminary information about the crash, which their details indicate happened near mile marker 101 of I-37 along the southbound lanes.
In their statements, authorities said that 35-year-old Abel Colchado was the driver of a Toyota Camry that was traveling southbound along the main lanes of the interstate. It appears that an 18-wheeler was behind the Toyota approaching it. That tractor-trailer alleged made an unsafe lane change, which caused the truck to crash into the Toyota. This caused Colchado’s vehicle to lose control and swerve onto the median.
As a result of the collision, Colchado was left with what were described as incapacitating injuries. It’s unclear right now if there were any other injuries resulting from the crash. Currently, no further information about the crash is available.
