Pelham, AL — June 8, 2023, 6 people were injured in a multi-vehicle rollover truck accident around 12:30 p.m. on Interstate 65 in Pelham.
Officials report a tractor-trailer hauling watermelons was northbound on I-65 when it somehow veered toward its driver’s side and collided with the center median. The truck then reportedly overturned and caught fire just past Exit 246 Cahaba Valley Rd.
Two other vehicles allegedly attempted evasive maneuvers and were involved in a second crash.
Authorities report five people suffered minor injuries and the sixth person was taken to a medical center. The severity of the sixth person’s injuries has not been released. Additionally, authorities have not said what vehicles the injured were in.
Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
