Smith County, TN — March 22, 2023, a semi-truck struck two other stopped trucks while traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 around 4:45 a.m. in Smith County.
Authorities report a Volvo semi-truck and Kenworth semi-truck behind the Volvo were stopped in the right shoulder when a Freightliner semi-truck side-swiped the Kenworth semi-truck and then continued forward into the Volvo semi-truck.
All three semi-trucks are reportedly disabled, and at least one driver was minor injured.
The cause of the crash will need further investigation.
