Harris County, TX — July 15, 2025, a 2-year-old was killed as the result of a drowning accident which happened late Tuesday off Balzano Court.
According to initial details about the accident, it took place in a residential area near Grand Parkway and Clay Road.
Investigators said there were calls about a 2-year-old who had gone missing from a home. Some time later, the child was found in a retention pond behind the home. The child was pronounced deceased following transport to a hospital.
Right now, additional details about the accident remain unclear.

Every time I see incidents like this, I have to wonder about these ponds and how easily accessible they are to the public. I don’t often hear any local officials speak about safety in regards to these accidents. I have to hope that if there were any measures to be taken that could prevent children from dying, they’d be a top priority.
