I can’t say I know more about what happened here than what’s in the news. In my experience, though, drivers who flee accident scenes don’t typically do so unless they made a mistake of some sort. The fact the alleged runaway driver here was in a commercial truck not only raises red flags about what the driver was doing but if there were known issues behind the scenes that an employer ignored or failed to notice.
