Bexar County, TX — January 3, 2024, Yvette Cantu was killed in a truck accident shortly before 6:15 a.m. along U.S. Highway 90.
According to reports, 52-year-old Yvette Cantu was traveling in a westbound Lexus on U.S. 90 approaching the Mechler Lane intersection when the accident took place.
A southbound 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow was reportedly at a stop behind a motorcycle attempting to make a left turn onto eastbound U.S. 90. There is a median between the westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway. The 18-wheeler and trailer were long enough that they back of the trailer was blocking the intersection of the westbound lanes. Officials indicate that the roadways were wet at the time and the reflectors on the back of the trailer were dirty and difficult to see, as a result. The westbound Lexus reportedly collided with the back of trailer. Cantu incurred fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
