San Antonio, TX — May 17, 2024, Valerie Villalobos was killed as the result of a car accident at around 4:15 a.m. along Highway 16.
Investigators said that the accident happened near the intersection of Highway 16 and South Zarzamora Street.
According to officials, 31-year-old Valerie Villalobos was on foot at the time. While walking on the Highway 16 access road, authorities say that a southbound Chevy Silverado struck Villalobos.
Due to the collision, Valerie Villalobos was fatally injured. The driver remained at the scene. Additional details are unavailable.

I have to wonder what kind of attention authorities gave to this accident. I’ve seen a lot of serious pedestrian accidents get completely overlooked because they’re often seen as a low priority for the authorities. That can lead to important details going unnoticed. Did that happen here, or were authorities able to dedicate proper time and resources to the investigations?
