Laredo, TX — July 16, 2023, a man was found deceased following a semi-truck fire at around 3:00 a.m. at a Pilot truck stop off Uniroyal Drive.
Authorities said that the crash happened at the Pilot truck stop located off the corner of Uniroyal Drive and the I-35 frontage road.
According to officials, they received calls to respond to the truck stop due to a semi-truck and another vehicle being on fire. Once emergency responders got the fire under control, details say they found someone inside the semi-truck.
That person, an unidentified man said to be in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. It does not appear that anyone else was hurt in the incident. Right now, the cause of the fire has yet to be publicly reported. Authorities say only that they do not believe the incident was the result of foul play. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
