Republic, MO — June 15, 2024, two people were injured following a truck accident at approximately 10:00 a.m. along U.S. Highway 60.
According to authorities, a 39-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman from Clever were traveling in a northbound 1965 Volkswagen on Main Street at the U.S. Highway 60 intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound 18-wheeler neglected the red light indicated by the traffic signal, entering the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the truck and the left side of the Volkswagen.
Both of the occupants of the passenger vehicle suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; they were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
