Columbia County, WI — August 23, 2024, one person was killed following a pickup truck versus 18-wheeler truck accident along County Road E.
According to authorities, two people were traveling eastbound in a passenger truck on County Road E approaching the intersection with County Road M when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an 18-wheeler traveling northbound on C.R. M failed to yield the right of way at the intersection. This resulted in a collision between the 18-wheeler and the pickup.
The person who had been behind the wheel of the pickup truck suffered reportedly critical injuries due to the wreck; they were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, they were ultimately unable to overcome the severity of their injuries, having later been declared deceased.
