Oldham County, TX — November 9, 2023, four people were injured in a truck accident at about 2:30 in the morning along Interstate Highway 40.

According to reports, a 33-year-old woman and two girls—one age 9 and the other age 6—were traveling in a westbound Honda Pilot on the north I.H. 40 Frontage Road approaching the C.R. 20 intersection when the incident took place.

For reasons yet to be confirmed, the Honda made a sudden left turn off of the frontage road and onto the westbound lanes of I.H. 40. At that point, the Honda was traveling east into westbound traffic. As a result, but Honda collided head-on with an oncoming 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler came to a stop partially on the shoulder and partially in the left-most lane of highway. The Honda was pushed off of the highway on the right-hand side and came to a stop west-facing in a roadside ditch. The two children in the Honda both sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash. A 23-year-old man in the 18-wheeler incurred minor injuries, as did the driver of the Honda. All four were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive treatment.

The cause of the accident is still under active investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. There are not currently any additional details available pertaining to this incident.
