Mesquite, TX — November 14, 2023, two people were injured in a truck accident just before 12:30 in the afternoon along I.H. 635.

According to reports, a 53-year old man and a 36-year-old man were traveling in a southbound box truck in the second lane from the right on Interstate Highway 635 just south of I.H. 30 when the accident took place.

For unknown reasons, the box truck veered right and into the right-most lane of the southbound highway, resulting in a collision with the trailer of an 18-wheeler which had been occupying that lane. The collision caused the box truck to swerve into the concrete barrier, overturning onto the drivers side until it came to rest facing southeast and blocking the right two lanes of the highway. The two men in the box truck both incurred reportedly severe injuries as a result of the crash; they were transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly clear and dry. Additional details—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time.
