Birmingham, AL — July 4, 2025, a 2-year-old boy was killed as the result of an accident that happened at a hotel along Colonnade Parkway.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the Hampton Inn located at 3400 Colonnade Parkway, south of the US 280 and I-459 interchange.

Details suggest that a 2-year-old boy from Michigan was in the family’s hotel room at the time. For reasons unclear, the child some became caught in the blinds cord. This led to the boy being taken to the hospital where he reportedly died on July 10.
Right now, the exact circumstances surrounding the accident are unavailable. Authorities say they don’t suspect foul play.
