I wonder if the severity of the mentioned injuries matches the severity of the crash. Generally, a single-vehicle wreck involving a semi-truck ends with serious injuries when the truck overturns or crashes into something solid, like a large tree, a pillar, or a concrete wall. I don’t see any details like that, so what exactly caused these injuries?
I bring this up because vehicle defects rarely get the attention they deserve, and few vehicles get as little attention as commercial trucks. Truck drivers, like any kind of driver, should benefit from the advancements we’ve made over the years in vehicle safety. Regardless of what causes a wreck, a driver should at least have a basic expectation that they’ll be protected up to a certain degree. Did this crash really surpass that degree? Are there more details that would make these results reasonable? Or, is there something else wrong that needs to be investigated more thoroughly?
