Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

A lack of clear information after a single-vehicle wreck is nothing unusual in my experience. It’s actually one type of accident I get the most calls about. Frankly, that’s because authorities rarely take them seriously.

Despite all kinds of possible factor they can look into—mechanical issues, road hazards, defects, medical conditions, etc.—authorities don’t consider much of anything beyond driver error. That’s obviously a common reason these crashes happen, but it’s far from the only reason.

So if investigators aren’t presenting clear evidence and ruling out other possibilities, how can they be sure they’re not blaming someone for something they didn’t do? I certainly don’t know anything more about this crash than what’s been confirmed publicly. The question is if authorities do or if they’re missing something important.
