Bowie County, TX — January 8, 2024, Spencer Hampton was killed and two others were injured following a car accident at around 10:00 p.m. on Highway 8.
Authorities said in preliminary statements on the crash that it happened near County Road 2101, north of New Boston and the Red River Army Depot.
According to officials, 47-year-old Spencer Hampton was in a Chevy Cruze which was going northbound along the highway. Due to events which were not made clear, the Cruze and an oncoming Dodge Ram 3500 collided head-on. This sent both vehicles off the side of the roadway.
As a result of the collision, Hampton sustained fatal injuries. The driver and passenger of the Dodge had serious and moderate injuries, respectively, according to officials. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.
