Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With single-vehicle wrecks, one particular challenge is just ensuring the incident got the attention it deserved. Authorities don’t often prioritize car accidents like this, and details can easily slip through the cracks. It would shock most people to see how often folks have come to me with reports about crashes like this where authorities made mistakes, jumped to conclusions, or otherwise missed something important. It’s one of the reasons I typically wait until there have been thorough independent investigations before attempting to draw any conclusions. Perhaps authorities here have been more thorough, but it’s not something I would take for granted.
