Longview, TX — August 14, 2024, Shyla Jones and one other were injured after a car accident at around 11:45 p.m. along North Eastman Road.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened in the area of the Eastman Road and Hawkins Parkway intersection.
According to officials, 21-year-old Shyla Jones was in a Kia Soul going northbound on Eastman. While turning onto Hawkins, the Kia crashed with an oncoming motorcycle. Due to this, the motorcyclist was seriously injured. Jones reportedly had moderate injuries. Authorities say they didn’t determine who had the right-of-way at the time.

It can surprise people when authorities aren’t able to get a clear picture of what led to a car accident, and the end result is that they just move on. Meanwhile, those involved in the crash are left to argue over who’s to blame. It’s one of the reasons independent investigators often end up involved in accidents that people would think are straight-forward. Sometimes, there is clear evidence authorities just missed, and a second look could bring that information to light to finally show what happened. The same could certainly prove true here.
