Lubbock, TX — April 4, 2023, a truck driver sustained injuries as the result of a rollover accident along I-27 near the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
Investigators responded to the area at around 7:00 a.m. It appears the crash took place along southbound lanes between Marsha Sharp and 19th Street. The cause of the crash remains unclear at this time. Authorities said only that a semi-truck overturned along the interstate, and the driver sustained apparently moderate injuries as a result. No further information can be confirmed.

When it comes to rollovers in commercial vehicles, one factor I rarely see discussed is the integrity of the truck itself during the rollover. It’s a problem that gets too little attention that many trucks fail to withstand rollovers that they otherwise should be able to. As a result, drivers can be injured in accidents they should be able to walk away from without issue. Maybe nothing like that happened here, but it’s important to shed light on this possible issue whenever possible.
