Williams County, ND — July 22, 2023, three people were injured following a semi-truck accident at around 8:45 a.m. along U.S. Highway 2.

According to information provided by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened approximately 4 miles east of the town of Ray.

It appears that a Hyundai Elantra was going eastbound along U.S. Highway 2 at the time. Ahead, authorities say that a semi-tanker failed to yield entering onto the highway. Doing so, the Hyundai crashed into the truck.

As a result of the collision, two adults and a child in the Hyundai reportedly had injuries considered to be non-life-threatening. Current information identifies them only as a 34-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman from Plentywood, Montana and a 3-year-old child riding with them. The truck driver did not appear to be hurt. Authorities say charges are pending at this time.
