UPDATE (January 17, 2024): Reports have recently been released which clarify what took place during this accident. As Rodrick Evans was traveling in a northbound Nissan Altima in the vicinity of S.H. 75 north of Crabbs Prairie, the vehicle was allegedly traveling at a speed deemed unsafe for the curve in the roadway. As a result, the Nissan reportedly veered right off of the roadway and into a roadside ditch before colliding with a tree. The vehicle then continued in a northerly trajectory before striking a second tree. This caused the vehicle to go airborne and Evans was reportedly ejected from the vehicle through the windshield. The vehicle came to rest upright facing south-southwest in the northbound lane of the highway. Evans came to rest between the north and southbound lanes just north of the Nissan. As previously state, Evans was declared deceased at the scene due to the injuries he incurred during the accident.
