Grand Oaks, TX — February 28, 2025, Robert Ortiz and two others were injured in a car accident at approximately 9:15 p.m. along Old Greenhouse Road.
According to authorities, an 18-year-old woman was traveling in a westbound Nissan Sentra on Old Greenhouse Road at the Windy Stone Drive intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Nissan attempted a left turn at an apparently unsafe time. A collision consequently followed between the Nissan and an eastbound Infiniti occupied by 23-year-old Robert Ortiz and a 21-year-old woman.
The woman from the Sentra reportedly suffered serious injuries over the course of the accident. Ortiz and the woman who had been with him in the Infiniti may have been injuries, as well, according to reports. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

To understand what might have led to this collision on Old Greenhouse Road, there are three essential questions that should guide any serious investigation.
First, did investigators take a detailed look at the intersection design and conditions? Residential intersections like the one at Windy Stone Drive often involve limited visibility, unclear signage, or poorly timed signals that can mislead drivers about when it’s safe to turn. Was the view of oncoming traffic obstructed by landscaping or parked vehicles? Was the intersection poorly lit or the road surface compromised? These are all conditions that could shift fault away from an individual decision and point toward external contributing factors.
Second, has anyone looked into the possibility of a mechanical issue that may have affected either vehicle’s ability to avoid or respond to the crash?
