UPDATE (June 19, 2023): It is our sad duty to report that a second accident victim, 71-year-old Therese Dow, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday, June 15.

Ebensburg, PA — May 25, 2023, Richard Dow was killed and three others were injured due to a semi-truck accident Thursday afternoon along U.S. 22.

Preliminary statements from Cambria County officials indicate that the crash took place in the area of U.S. Route 22 and South Center Street.

Richard Dow Killed, Three Injured in Truck Accident in Ebensburg, PA

According to investigators, 77-year-old Richard Dow was in an SUV that was going along South Center Street. That vehicle was reportedly making a turn onto U.S. 22 when a commercial truck going westbound crashed into the SUV. The SUV then apparently went into oncoming lanes where it collided with a Cambria County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

Due to the collision, Dow sustained fatal injuries. His wife was reportedly also in the SUV and was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Two Sheriff’s deputies were treated for injuries, as well. Right now, no further information regarding factors leading up to the crash are available as investigations are ongoing.
