Webb County, TX — April 5, 2024, Raquel Rodriguez Rojas and one other person were injured in a car accident just before 6:45 p.m. along Marcella Avenue.
According to authorities, 62-year-old Raquel Rodriguez Rojas and a 73-year-old man were traveling in a westbound PT Cruiser along Calton Road at the Marcella Avenue intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on Marcella Avenue failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, entering the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the front-end of the pickup truck and the left side of the Cruiser.
Rojas incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck and the man who had also been in the Cruiser suffered reportedly moderate injuries, as well. They were each transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
