Barton County, KS — March 13, 2024, Randy Johnson was injured in a truck accident at approximately 2:40 p.m. along U.S. Highway 56.

According to authorities, Randy Johnson of Pawnee Rock was traveling in a westbound Nissan on U.S. Highway 56 approaching the SW 80th intersection when the accident took place.

An 18-wheeler hauling a trailer was apparently attempting to make a right turn from westbound U.S. 56 onto SW 80th ahead of the Nissan. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Nissan collided with the back of the 18-wheeler’s trailer and flipped over onto its roof before sliding underneath the trailer, itself. The vehicle was reportedly dragged for a short distance before the 18-wheeler came to a stop.

Johnson was reportedly entrapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated upon the arrival of emergency personnel. He incurred injuries of unknown severity as a result of the crash and was transported to a local medical facility be EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
