People tend to jump to conclusions with fires like this and assume authorities are saying the resident caused the fire. Misuse of flammable materials is obviously common, but there are other possibilities to consider. For example, this may have been the result of an appliance that was not installed properly. The resident may be a renter, and the fire happened due to hazardous conditions a landlord failed to address. Or, it could be that a defective part led to the leak. These possibilities take time and experience to properly rule out, and that’s not likely to happen so soon after an accident. There could still be a lot more to this story.
