Deer Park, TX — July 22, 2025, two workers were hospitalized following a possible gas leak at around 7:30 a.m. off Tidal Road.
According to preliminary statements from Harris County officials, the incident occurred at Lubrizol Corporation, which is off the corner of Tidal Road and Highway 225.
Right now, exact circumstances are still under investigation. Two workers at the facility reported headaches and nausea. They were ultimately transported to the hospital in unspecified conditions. No others were reported affected.
At this time, a cause for the incident remains unconfirmed. Reports only mention an “unknown odor.” Investigations continue.

It’s been less than a year since a different Deer Park gas leak led to people dying just a bit down the road from where this incident happened. It raises questions about how seriously all the facilities took that fatal incident. That should be a wake up call to any company to recheck their safety procedures and maintenance routine to prevent these kinds of accidents. That said, there will have to be more thorough investigations to find out what happened here and whether any steps could have prevented it.
