One thing I have yet to see is further public statements describing the runaway vehicle here. Generally, one of the best ways to catch a runaway driver is with help from the community. Someone may be able to connect the dots and identify the suspect, helping authorities locate and apprehend them. Then, they can look into why the driver fled, considering it usually involves things like warrants, drugs, or drunk driving. But if authorities aren’t taking this incident seriously, they may be letting someone off the hook.
