La Marque, TX — April 25, 2024, one person was killed in a pedestrian versus car accident sometime around 6:00 a.m. along Interstate Highway 45.
According to authorities, the accident took place in a construction zone where there are currently no shoulders along I.H. 45 in the vicinity of Farm to Market 519.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a motor vehicle became disabled in one of the lanes of the freeway. The 28-year-old man allegedly left the stalled vehicle and attempted to cross the active lanes of the freeway on foot. The he was reportedly struck by several vehicles, causing them to sustain fatal injuries as a result.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
