Austin, TX — June 24, 2023, one person was killed following a pedestrian accident at around 10:26 p.m. along Highway 71.
Preliminary information about the accident puts in the area of the State Highway 71 and Scenic Brook Drive intersection in west Travis County.
According to officials, a 69-year-old woman was on foot at the time and reportedly attempted to walk across the highway. While crossing westbound lanes, it appears a driver did not see the woman in time, striking the pedestrian in the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian succumbed to fatal injuries. There were no reported injuries for the driver involved. That person also does not have any reported charges against them. Right now, additional details about the accident remain unclear pending further investigations.
