Upshur County, TX — January 31, 2026, Paul Woten was fatally injured following a house fire accident which happened around 5:00 a.m. along Hawthorne Road.
Authorities said they were called to the scene, several miles southwest of Gilmer off of Holly Road.
According to officials, they found that 64-year-old Paul Woten was fatally injured due to the house fire. Two others involved reportedly were injured. Right now, no further information about the fire is available.

People tend to overlook house fires because they think there are just a couple of possible factors to consider. However, investigators have a lot they need to look into. That includes possible gas leaks, defective appliances, faulty electronics, botched installations or repairs, issues relating to rental property maintenance, etc. Likely or not, it’s important for a family to know all possibilities are being ruled out. Hopefully that’s happening here.
