Springfield, IL — May 19, 2023, a motorcyclist was killed in a motorcycle/truck crash on North Dirksen Parkway and Northfield Drive in Springfield, IL.
Authorities say that on May 19, a motorcycle struck the side of a truck attempting a turn onto Northfield Drive. Investigators report that the motorcycle also came into contact with the truck’s back end and failed to brake.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, reportedly sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. Officials say the motorcyclist died while at the hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
