How Did This Accident Occur?

When two vehicles collide head-on, it’s usually because one of them veered out of its lane before the collision, so investigators must determine which one it was. Evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles and eyewitness accounts should reveal which one left its lane, but not why.

Was either driver distracted or dealing with a vehicle malfunction that caused sudden acceleration or a problem with its steering mechanism?

Investigators should review cell phone records to see if either driver was texting or taking a call right before the crash, but an outside expert may be needed for a mechanical examination of the vehicles because most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or resources for such testing.

The families affected by this crash deserve to have answers to all of their lingering questions.
