San Antonio, TX — July 31, 2023, an officer was injured due to a possible DWI accident early Monday along the Loop 410 access road.
Authorities report that the collision happened in the Balcones Heights area at the intersection of Loop 410 and Fredericksburg Road.
According to officials, a Balcones Heights police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle which was reportedly behaving erratically. That vehicle then allegedly did not stop, going through a red light at the Loop 410 and Fredericksburg intersection. It appears this led to a collision with a San Antonio Police Department cruiser.
As a result of the collision, the SAPD officer was taken to an emergency room. It does not appear there were any other confirmed injuries. Reports say that the 19-year-old driver was not hurt and is suspected of driving while intoxicated. Charges have not been confirmed as investigations continue.
