Brazos County, TX — July 27, 2024, Octaviana Mendoza Rea was injured following a car accident at around 6:30 a.m. along F.M. 974.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened in the area of the F.M. 974/Tabor Road and Alexander Road intersection, north of Bryan.
According to officials, 43-year-old Octaviana Mendoza Rea was in a Saturn Outlook traveling southbound along Tabor Road. While rounding a curve, the vehicle somehow traveled off the side of the road where it crashed into a fence. As a result, Mendoza Rea sustained reportedly serious injuries.

When it comes to single-vehicle wrecks, that’s not unusual. Frankly, they’re not often a high priority for the authorities, and that can lead to them overlooking important details. For example, I handled a case not long ago where a victim suffered serious injuries due to a defective seatbelt they didn’t know about. Authorities completely missed that and instead just blamed the victim. It took more thorough independent investigations to finally address the issue. Maybe nothing so unusual happened here, but it wouldn’t be surprising if investigations haven’t been thorough enough to say that for certain.
