How Did This Accident Occur?

The “how” of this accident seems pretty obvious, as it’s likely the tool flew out of someone’s vehicle. There could be another explanation, but that seems most common. With that in mind, though, there’s two things that come to my mind.

One is that there is someone out there who can come forward and identify the driver that lost this tool. This wasn’t a claw hammer or pliers or some common household tool anyone could have. More likely than not, there is a work crew, a job site, or someone out there who noticed that they’re missing a pick-axe, and they need to come forward—even if it’s just to rule someone out.

And two, have authorities looked for any nearby cameras? These days, so many businesses, residences, and drivers have cameras that it’s very possible there’s a suspect on camera somewhere. That evidence is time-sensitive, and the sooner it’s secured, the better.

In the meantime, the best anyone can do is keep these reports as public as possible in the hopes the details reach someone who knows something. If any witnesses saw what happened or if someone has new information, they should share that information as soon as possible.
