Hill County, TX — July 6, 2024, Nathan Josephus was killed following a motorcycle versus car accident at approximately 4:30 p.m. along S.H. 22.
According to authorities, 36-year-old Nathan Josephus was traveling on an eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on State Highway 22 in the vicinity southwest of the C.R. 2105 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Dodge Durango SUV occupied by an 85-year-old man made a turn at an unsafe time, entering the path of travel of the motorcycle and leading to a collision between the two vehicles. Josephus suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck; he was declared deceased at the scene. The man from the Durango sustained minor injuries, as well, according to reports.
No more confirmed details are available at this time.

Generally speaking, the initial claims here seem to paint a rather clear picture. But there could be extenuating circumstances to consider which authorities don’t always include in their preliminary investigations. It helps for people to know about these possibilities so they can follow up with authorities to see if they’re missing anything.
Were there any mechanical defects involved? Did visibility or road conditions contribute to the crash? Was someone unlawfully over-served by an alcohol provider, putting themselves or others in danger? Were there any witnesses authorities failed to follow up with after the crash? Does this stretch of road see an unusually high number of accidents? Likely or not, these things happen. Having handled hundreds of accident cases, I’ve seen how even ruling out possible factors helps families at least find some peace of mind in knowing they’re getting the whole story. It remains to be seen if authorities were able to achieve that here.
