Elkton, MD — April 17, 2023, Myles Watson was killed and a woman was injured following an accident where their vehicle crashed with an 18-wheeler.
Investigators said they were called to the crashed scene at around 2:40 a.m. It happened at the intersection of Elkton Road and Performance Drive, outside the Holiday Inn.
Details suggest that 25-year-old Myles Watson and a 25-year-old woman were in a Chevy Camaro traveling northbound. At the intersection, authorities say an 18-wheeler was coming off of Performance Drive. The Camaro hit the trailer, going underneath and into a parking lot on the other side.

Due to the collision, Watson sustained fatal injuries. The woman in the Camaro had unspecified injuries. Right now, additional details about the crash remain unconfirmed.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
I can’t offer any specific information about this crash that isn’t already available to the public. But to be rather blunt, my experience doesn’t offer many explanations where these events happen without the 18-wheeler doing something wrong. Is that what happened here?
The most up to date images of this intersection I can find clearly show that Performance Drive has a stop sign. As such, an 18-wheeler coming off of that road would have to yield to traffic on Elkton Road. So why didn’t the 18-wheeler driver here wait for the victims’ vehicle to pass? Could it be something unusual made them think the path was clear? Or, could it simply be the driver wasn’t paying attention and pulled out in front of someone? I’d welcome any insight locals may have on this stretch of road or any details about the crash that aren’t currently in the news that could clear up what went wrong and got a man killed.
