Hardin County, KY — June 27, 2023, one person was killed and two were injured after a multi-truck accident early Tuesday along I-65.
Preliminary details about the fatal crash say that it happened along the southbound lanes of the interstate in the area of the Glendale Hodgenville Road south of Elizabethtown.
According to officials, traffic along the southbound lanes of the interstate reportedly came to a stop as the result of construction. Approaching that stopped traffic, details suggest a semi-truck did not slow down in time. That truck rear-ended another commercial truck, which in turn pushed the two vehicles into a third commercial truck.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the first truck succumbed to fatal injuries. A passenger from that truck reportedly had life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second truck reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. Right now, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
