How Did This Accident Occur?

When it comes to pedestrian-involved accidents, most folk are quick to assume that it comes down to who had the right-of-way at the time of the accident. While that is certainly an important factor to consider, it is far from the only one. For example, the investigators should definitely look into whether or not driver distraction was at play. Was the woman looking at her phone or a GPS at the time of the wreck? It was a morning accident; it’s even possible that she had been glancing away from the road in order to take a bite of her breakfast. It’s possible that the boy was easily visible and avoidable, but was struck regardless. If that were the case, then the driver would be culpable, even if she did actually have the right-of-way at the time. It’s because of possibilities like this that the accident deserves a thorough and openminded investigation so that the people affected by it are given real answers backed by solid evidence.
