Grayson County, TX — July 24, 2024, Minnie Gerdes and one other person were injured in a car accident at approximately 11:30 a.m. along S.H. 289.
According to authorities, 82-year-old Minnie Gerdes was traveling in a southbound Cadillac on State Highway 289 in the vicinity south of Farm to Market 406 when the accident took place.
The Cadillac had reportedly slowed in order to yield the right of way to a another vehicle. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Cadillac was rear-ended by a southbound Jeep Cherokee occupied by a 19-year-old man.
Gerdes suffered severe injuries as a result of the wreck, according to reports. Meanwhile, the man from the Jeep sustained moderate injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
