Graham, TX — February 24, 2023, Mark Blackwell and Roy Voss were killed due to an accident that occurred with power lines.
Preliminary details indicated that the incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. off the corner of Kentucky Street and 1st Street. The cause of the incident is unclear at this time with statements describing it only as an “electrical accident.” Investigators allege that Blackwell, 65, and Voss, also 65, were in a bucket lift that was raised near power lines, but are still investigating the exact circumstances that led to both men being fatally injured.

Something stands out to me here in that the victims are in their 60s. While I don’t know anything about these men that isn’t already in the news, that usually means they’ve been doing their job for a long time. I find it hard to believe they would make a mistake, considering how often workers like this have to deal with power lines. That makes me seriously concerned something unusual beyond their control led to their deaths. Hopefully officials looking into this share those concerns so they can ensure the victims’ loved ones get the answers they deserve.
