Edwards County, TX — November 5, 2024, Lynda Buchanon was killed and another was injured in a single-car accident at approximately 12:00 p.m. along S.H. 55.
According to authorities, 69-year-old Lynda Buchanan and a 64-year-old man were traveling in a northwest bound GMC Sierra pickup truck on State Highway 55 in the vicinity northwest of Rocksprings when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pickup truck experienced tire failure which led to loss of control; it reportedly veered off of the right side of the road, coming to a stop after crashing into a tree. Buchanan suffered critical injuries over the course of the accident according to reports. The man who had been behind the wheel of the truck sustained moderate injuries, as well. They were each flown to area hospitals in order to receive necessary treatment. However, Buchanan was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of her injuries, having later been declared deceased.
