Cameron County, TX — October 14, 2024, Luis Martinez was injured following a single-vehicle pickup truck accident at about 12:00 midnight on Boca Chica Boulevard.
According to authorities, 21-year-old Luis Martinez was traveling in a westbound GMC Sierra pickup truck on Boca Chica Boulevard approaching the Minnesota Avenue intersection when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pickup truck failed to make a safe left turn onto southbound Minnesota Avenue. It reportedly veered off of the southwest corner of the intersection and crashed into a light pole. Martinez suffered reportedly serious injuries due to the wreck. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
