Considering a man lost his life here, a simple accident summary and a possible fine might not seem like very much. Well, it probably isn’t. People don’t really know just how complex Texas work fatality law is, and these current details barely scratch the surface.
In Texas, employers aren’t required to subscribe to the workers’ comp system. That means there is not always a guaranteed path to get a victim’s family the help they need after an accident. And even when there is workers’ comp, the system isn’t always designed to get a family what’s truly fair. Navigating these legal mazes can prove incredibly challenging for those without experienced help guiding them through it. And without that guidance, a mere fine and an accident summary could be the only resolution a family ever sees.
