Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
It’s not clear right now if authorities were able to locate the runaway driver. Obviously, that should be the priority after any hit-and-run accident. That way, the driver can both face appropriate consequences for leaving the scene and potentially for something that led them to flee in the first place (often drugs, warrants, or drunk driving). Ultimately, the victim’s loved ones deserve to know there will be accountability. Hopefully authorities can release more information to the public so someone in the community might be able to connect some dots and ID the runaway driver.
