Tarrant County, TX — July 31, 2024, Latashia Dawson was injured following a hit-and-run car accident shortly after 5:15 p.m. along Sublett Road.

According to authorities, the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of Sublett Road in the vicinity west of the Joplin Road intersection.

While there are normally two lanes heading in each direction on Sublett Road, at the time of the accident there were cones set up which forced the left eastbound lane to merge with the right lane. Officials indicate that 40-year-old Latashia Dawson was traveling in a Toyota Camry in the right-most eastbound lane of Sublett in front of a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. Reports state that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pickup attempted to pass the Camry on the left, but was unable to complete the maneuver before the forced merge. A collision followed between the right side of the pickup truck and the left side of the Camry.

The pickup truck allegedly fled the scene of the accident, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. Dawson suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
