How Did This Accident Occur?
There isn’t enough information here to safely speculate about what may have gone wrong. Some folks reading this, however, may disagree. I often come across crashes involving teenage drivers where people are already jumping to the conclusion that the driver must have been behaving recklessly. While it is true that teens are statistically more likely to make mistakes, it’s the evidence that tells the story.
Factors like a vehicle defect, a tire blowout, a reckless hit-and-run driver, road hazards—these are just as important to rule out or confirm with young and inexperienced drivers as it is with people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. Age should not affect whether or not a car accident gets the thorough accident reconstruction it deserves. Unfortunately, a lot of people ignore this and jump to conclusions anyway. I’ve actually had cases where the police even rushed to conclusions without actually considering the facts. That’s just irresponsible, and it’s why a lot of people end up having independent investigators look things over and verify the details.
If people think they know better about what happened here, they’re welcome to give their input. Before doing so, though, really consider this: Are those conclusions based on facts or bias?
