How Did This Accident Occur?

Some people will look at this accident, realize that it was a hit-and-run, and then just give up ever knowing the true cause of the accident just because the suspect vehicle has yet to be located. Something that I’ve come to know over the years is that hit-and-run vehicles actually get tracked down more often than people might think. Dash cameras, traffic cameras, security footage, witness accounts; all are possible tools at the fingertips of investigators. Hopefully they are being properly utilized in order to track down the suspect vehicle.

However, tracking down the vehicle is just the first step in the process. Once the vehicle is located, it will be paramount that it be subject to an in-depth vehicle inspection. There could be details hidden in the logs of the vehicle’s ECM that could shed additional light on how the accident took place. Feel free to let me know whether or not you agree with me, but the answers that could be unearthed through an inspection like this would bring extra clarity, and perhaps even some closure, to the loved ones of Mr. Lewis.
